Gamer Tag Explained - Killer Nikita

In all honesty, my story is not as interesting as Whacky's. In fact, I was forced into getting both the Xbox and Xbox Live.

My wife asked if I wanted an Xbox and I said no. She pushed and pushed and then finally just went out and bought it for me, calling it my Father's Day and Birthday presents, combined. That was her first mistake. Months later, my nephew, BlazeYaDead, was over and he told me I had to get Xbox Live. Of course, I refused. He talked my wife into going out a getting it for me. That was her second mistake. Now she complains I play it too much.

It was a stormy night. The kind of night where a fireplace and a bottle of scotch are a perfect match. My family and I gathered around the xbox to create our gamertag. We argued over different names. I traditionally used Lord Gnoze and Snuffler for my gamer tags, but they said did not like that and because you can only have one, it has to be one the family likes. We tried different names and we could not reach any kind of agreement. Suddenly, my dog Nikita attempted to consume my foot, sock and all. As the blood began to soak through, we all spoke at once, KILLER NIKITA (actually, someone yelled out Nikita and we just added the Killer when we found Nikita was taken already, but Nikita attacking makes a better story, so that is the one I am going to stick with). We are one of the few gamer tags out there that still has a space in the name.

Nikita, while now associated with Le Femme Nikita, is not a girls name. It was also used in the movie Little Nikita staring River Phoenix as Nikita. Remember Nikita Khrushchev - Soviet Premier?

NIKITA: Russian form of Nicholas and means victory of the people, or unconquered people.

About the dog, Nikita is a scrappy, black, 3.5 pound toy poodle. Yes, my gamer tag is named after my poodle. Sadder still, I play like a toy poodle.

About Whacky and his golf. I have never played with him on a real course, but I do kick his butt in Links. I only get to play once or twice a year so I am truly a hacker. But, I must be getting better, I have not hit another golfer with my ball in almost two years. I have heard stories about Whacky's game though, and he will say he is better today (last week he wanted a sponsor so he could go pro). I have been told he is a wild golfer. He may hit long... it is just the direction the ball goes that needs work. I could say more, but, again, I have not played golf with him and I am only passing on this rumor just to bug him.

I know it's a bad name, but I can't help it. I blame it on Microsoft.

Here is how it got started:
I went to Ireland with a large group of family and friends. We had our own private bus tour, seeing most of southern Ireland. On the third day of the trip, a bunch of us started coming up Irish Mc names. The funny part is that most of the people on the trip were Irish or part Irish. So my Mc name became McTiger, since I like golf and my swing has been compared to Tiger Woods. I regularly hit my sand wedge from 130 yds out and can hit the occasional 300+ yd drive. Now, if I can only keep that consistent....
I digress.....
So, later a few months later, I got an Xbox. I was choosing my gamertag and came up with McTiger. Well, Xbox live did not like that, said it was too generic, so it added on Whacky. I tried to stop it, but it ended up adding it anyway.
Well, I called Xbox live support and said told them my story and I asked if I could change it. In all it's power and money, they said No. According to them, it was my mistake and if I wanted to change, I could pay for another account. Microsoft customer focus at it's best.
I've gotten a few chuckles from other players about the name. In games like R6 or H2, I take note of who is chuckling and seek them out for my first kill. :)
If you see me in a game with you, chuckle all you want, I'll be the one having the last laugh......

Don't leave your XBox unattended !!

I made this mistake the other day. My daughter and nephew (BlazeYaDead) got on my XBox and created new characters for WCP. Of course, their goal was not to create their likeness, but to create the ugliest characters they could. They created "Sick" - old, bald, fat, woman with "Baby" on her tee shirt and "Purdy" - old, fat, bald man. This was not enough for them, they then had me take each character into a live game. Me, being the kind of guy I am, slow played every hand to make sure everyone got a good, long look at them. Lots of laughing and a few "eew"s. Funnier still, got into one game and there was another ugly player there. A match made in heaven (or in this case, Eden). I think we should all have ugly players and run all ugly tournaments. I guess I have to create a new ugly Killer Nikita. Look for me, and keep your kids away from your Xbox. You never know what they will do to your profiles.... Wait, in my case, maybe they can improve my FPS game stats. I need all the help I can get.

New stuff for H2

Halo 2 has some new online matches you can play. They allow wraiths in the game now, which makes it pretty tough. I've learned if you don't get into the Warthog or the Ghost, you have to take the side paths and keep your head down.
Something is wrong with the H2 stats site, that's why the black box on the top of this page.
If it's not black and has the stats, about time they fixed it!!
Killer and I were on last night and got in a match with what seemed a bunch of 10 year olds. They were yelling and screaming do this and do that while they were busy letting the other team in the base to plant the bomb. Killer and I worked together to ward off attackers and travel with the bomb before we got splattered, but we worked as a team, something those kids will never learn. All of them wanted to be generals, but none were willing to follow orders or follow the game.
I guess that's the difference between a 10 yr old gamer and an old guy....

Killer Nikita Breaks Silence

Time for Killer Nikita to speak. Got to tell you, it is tough being an old guy playing video games. I wish I was 15 years old again and could play for hour and hours. Now, I feel lucky to get in a round or two after work. Regardless of my skill, I enjoy the games.

I currently play Halo2, Ghost Recon 2, Rainbow 6 – Black Arrow, Links and World Championship Poker. That can change, of course, depending on my mood. Can’t wait for Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, Jade Empire, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Lockdown. So many games, so little money and so little time.

Our clan is setting up a Uber Lan Fest night in the future….over 32 guys battling in teams of four across the US. One site will host 12 players. Scotch only will be served at my site, except for those pups to young to drink the hard stuff. Don’t worry Blaze, I will have some soy milk for you.

Regarding cheaters. I feel honesty and fairness rules at all time, and in all places. The way you act and live is not only a reflection on you, but your family as well. If you have to cheat to play a video game, where will you draw the line? Unfortunately, this is a learned behavior and reflects on your upbringing and family.
Rant over…. Look for me on live for an easy kill (most of the time).

WCP

WCP is still pretty cool. Played a couple more games tonight with Killer Nikita, including Omaha Hold Em and Crazy Pineapple. Those are 2 weird games.
Killer did acidentally hit the WCP glitch before and now has a couple million.
Now I have to work on getting those Halo 2 stats up. Any newbies out there that want to help me with that?
