Killer the poet - UPDATED Feb 6, 2006 early in the morning
Tale of woe and joy
My 360 has stopped dead
More time with my wife
I guess Killer is back in the Haiku mood.
Last Thursday, all was fine in the house of Nikita. Friday night, the world shifted. Played Perfect Dark Zero for about 2 minutes when everything froze. I thought nothing about it and restarted the 36o (you already know where this is going). Restarted PDZ and after two minutes the system froze again. I checked the disc, and it was spotless. Put in GUN, and tried again. Two minutes of riding my black stallion and the system froze again.
I called 1-800-4my-xbox on Saturday AM and after waiting on hold, getting someone, waiting on hold, getting dropped, calling back, waiting on hold and finally getting some answers…. The 360 goes back.
I was hoping to get the return box on Monday, but it did not show. Hey, maybe they only mean workdays (as in Monday thru Friday). No problem, I should get the box on Tuesday (the date of this blog). Wife (Mrs. Killer) called around noon. Mail had arrived, but now box. I hope that it is coming by special courier this afternoon.

UPDATED - 2/1/2006
Killer getting crabby now. Got home afterwork on Tuesday and NO return box. Call Xbox help and they said the box was shipped on Tuesday and I should get it on Wednesday. HEY, I called them on Saturday morning. I expected the box to ship out on Monday, at the latest. I have concerns that I will not have the 360 back by next Friday's poker game. If not, I will have to ask BlazeYaDead to bring his over. I know he will not pass up the opportunity to hook it up to the HD TV (his Dad won't let him hook it up to the 52 inch HD TV at home). At least there is some good news, they are using UPS instead of DHL. Check the Xbox forums for the horror stories of 360 getting "misplaced" by DHL.
Mrs. Killer says that if the box comes today, she will try to pack it up and drop it off at the UPS store, as long as the tot she watches is not napping. If not, I should be able to get home in time to drop it off before the evening pick up.
UPDATE - Feb 2, 2006
Got home last night ready to pack up the 36o and run to the UPS store to get it out on the evening pickup. OH NO, no box..... Mrs. Killer was nice, at 10AM the box came and she packed up the 36o and dropped it off for me. The little guy is on its way to Texas. Hey Whacky, you will be closer to my 360 than me.
UPDATE - Feb 2, 2006 7:30 AM CST
I got an email the the 360 was shipped back to my on Friday, next day air. Unfortunately, it looks like UPS does not delivery, unless it is a special shipment, on Saturday. So, I expect the little guy to be home today. Mrs. Killer will call me when it arrives. If it works, I will rate this service as a 9+.
Oh. one more thought: When my wife and nephew (BlazeYaDead) forced me to get the first Xbox, I warned them that EVERY game console I owned, the company either went under or stopped production of the console. Commodore 64 (okay, not a console, but I only played games on it), Sega Genesis, Sega Dreamcast…. Now the Xbox and Xbox 360. I guess this could be called console revenge. Instead of the company dieing, the console died. Plus this is a personal record, the console made into its second iteration.
Someday, I will post my reviews of PDZ, GUN and Call Of Duty. But for now, all were fun to play. COD was the coolest and hardest. PDZ came in second and GUN in third. GUN was fun and cheesy, but the graphics were just okay.
