Been awhile.. Got Kinect for christmas from wife. Is too cool. Got EA Active Sports 2 for Kinect. Started workouts, and pulled a muscle in my leg. Now Whacky can catch up to me in work outs.

On new years eve, we played it for over 4 hours. Brother-in-law said he hurt his arm doing the javelin throw. Personally, the discus did me in.

Game Room

Whacky and Killer are very disappointed in this. The concept is nice, but the implementation of it can be quite costly.

I own several arcade games. I now have to purchase PacMan to add it to GameRoom?

It's a great concept, but seems like they are attempting to appeal to an older crowd by having a lot of the older classics out there and hitting the younger crowd with the avatars.

What I would like to see with it:

Interaction of the avatars when visiting friends game rooms.

Integration of already purchased arcade games into Game Room.

Sorry, this just seems like a way to make more money for Microsoft.....

Facebook on 360

Meh....

Who cares?

Why would Microsoft do a poor implementation like this? So what, I can now see Facebook from the 360. Where is the interactive portion of it.

But wait, is there an underlying reason? Could it be that Microsoft is breaking down and will be close to putting a browser on the 360?

So, as an experiment, put a few social sites like Last.fm and Facebook on the 360. How many people are going to be able to hack it?

If it doesn't get hacked, now do they start releasing more until the 360 becomes browser capable?

Wait and see....

Rock Band: Beatles

Ah, what to say about this besides it ROCKS?
Harmonix did a fantastic job on this: from the cartoony aspect of the Beatles to the real pictures along with text of the band. The capturing of the screaming fans in Shea stadium. The way the band holds the guitars and the mannerisms in the way they sing.
Yes, Harmonix, you captured the essence of the band.
The music is fantastic also.
The only complaint: The band had 2 guitarists. Why can't you choose what you want to play? Example: if I don't have a drummer, why can't I have 2 guitar players and a bass? Heck, you're allowing for 3 mics to be hooked up, why not 3 guitars?
Yes, screen real estate does come into play, but you could put the limit on there: either 2 guitars and 1 bass, or 1 guitar 1 bass and 1 drums.

Other than that, this is loads of fun. I plan on playing these songs on all instruments along with vocals.
If you're an old guy (or girl) like us, you would love this game!

Still rocking with RB2. Can't wait to play the Styx/REO pack tonight...hmmmm or should I play my old time c64 favorited Lode Runner.

Excited too... Tiger Woods 10 is out in about 6 weeks.

Rock Band 2

Wow, what a great release!!! World Tour updated so now you can play on Live!!
Are there some bugs, yes, but minor ones. For example, if you do a 2 song set list and one is sung by a guy and the other by a girl, and your singer is a male, the female part will be sung by the male. Looks kind of weird seeing a dude singing something like Maps.
Killer Nikita got the wireless guitar and says it rocks. Whacky is thinking of picking up the wireless bass since my strum bar is busted on the down strum. The up strum works fine. Strange.
Interestingly enough, there are not too many complaints about RB2. I suspect they'll start with the song downloads being too much, but so far, so good.

New stuff

OK, we suck. Actually, I blame Killer on it. No updates in a long time.
So, here is one:
On the horizon: TW09: Will it suck as bad as the other TW series? It looks like some good improvements, but we'll have to wait and see. Online should be better. If I hit a shot, shows it stopping 2 feet from the hole, and I have a 10 foot putt, I'm selling.
RB2 - Yes, RB2. The good part is they are selling as game only. But, my guitar and drums are slowly dieing. Need to get new ones. I'm looking forward to this.
Other than that, not much. Kind of a boring time for 360.
Oh wait, the new Wii Avatars are coming....oops, can't call them Wii...whatever...
