GR:AW
It is finally here: A next gen game!!! Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter has lived up to the reputation! The graphics are stunning, the sound realistic, the experience phenomenal.
A few examples of the stunning graphics: when firing through a tree, you can see the leaves fall; the bricks on the road look like a road, not a repeated segment; in the training mission, when the helicopter is landing, you see dirt and papers swirl in the wake.
The sound is realistic from the guns firing to throwing a grenade, to hearing the hollow pop from the launcher. You can also hear the background noises of sea gulls and the ocean in the background when by water.
[Killer speaks]
Throw a nade at a car or hit it with a rocket and it flies up in the air. Too cool. Have to try to get under it before it lands! The smoke nades are awesome. If you get into the smoke, that is all you see. The detail rocks. If you zoom in on a box with a label, you can read it. It was not some out of focus letters. Zoom in on anything, enemies, trees, walls... you don't get out of focus pixels, you get nice clear detail. Have to zoom in on Whacky's face to see if that mole is still there. I got lost looking out over the water. The motion of the ocean looks too real. I can not wait to see what they do with Splinter Cell!!

If Splinter Cell goes to the level of detail, and even more, that GR:AW has done graphically, I don't mind waiting until September. I'm under the opinion that if you create a game, rush to release it, and it is garbage, don't bother releasing it. Get it right before releasing. R6:Lockdown was a disappointment. Delayed to have it turn out like garbage. That is sad. And, for $60/game, it better not be garbage.
[Whacky off soapbox]
The experience is fantastic! From aiming the gun, to walking, to looking through the sites. Again, it is next gen.
Is it without fault? No. There are some of the old glitches from the R6 days, such as looking through walls. I'm guessing those will be fixed in upcoming updates. From the Live menu, you cannot join a freinds game in progress.
I will play more and write more as I see. Also, I'll go through a full review as I've done previously once I get through a few missions.
Til then, BUY THIS GAME!!!!
