XBox 360

What a disappointment MTV did with the XBox 360 commercial, oops, special. I would expect more from the Lord of the Rings.

Well, it does look very cool, and the box should scream! A few dual core processors, a video card with 512MB RAM?? That card has the same amount of memory I have on my work machine!! I don't know if my boss will allow me to get away with an XBox 360 for work.

I think Uncle Billy Bob Gates made a beeeg mistake: He said he'll never own an iPod in a press conference while he was touting Windows Mobile 5. Let's see: He gave Apple a few hundred million dollars a few years ago, the core of XBox 360 is a PowerPC (same as Mac's), and some rumors are flying around that a Mac was used to help develop XBox 360. So, why tick off your competition while you still need them to succeed?

By having XBox 360 on a PowerPC platform, it would lead to the natural progression of MS Windows Longhorn being developed for both Intel and PowerPC platforms. Wouldn't that be a kick in the butt to Intel? It would be a very smart move by Gates to do that: send a message to Intel saying they are not the only player in town (yes, AMD exists, but that's about it) and also send a message to the Mac community that they have an alternative also.
